Metal Deburring Supply

Deburring discs for sheet metal

Deburring discs are layered abrasive discs that run on disc-style deburring machines to remove burrs and round sharp edges. Two choices decide the result: the performance level (how strong and even a radius you get) and the abrasive type (matched to your material).

Performance levels

LevelWhat it doesGood for
StandardEveryday edge breaking with steady, even resultsLight burrs, safe-to-handle edges
ProfessionalEveryday edge breaking with steady, even resultsRegular production deburring
Professional PlusA wider working face for extra-even roundingParts where an even radius matters
HERO and HERO R2Dense flaps for strong, symmetrical radii at high feed ratesHeavy radius for coating durability, high throughput

Abrasive types

Match the abrasive to the material. Stainless, aluminum and steel each respond best to a different one.

Abrasive typeUse it when
All-rounderYou run mixed material or want one general-purpose choice
Gentle for coated sheetThe surface has a coating you do not want to damage
Stainless specialistYou deburr or round stainless steel
AluminumYou deburr aluminum
Coarse and aggressiveBurrs are heavy and you need fast removal
Wet useYour machine runs with coolant or water
Maximum removalYou need the most stock removed, such as heavy burrs

How much radius can I expect?

As a guide, a light edge break is about 0.2 to 0.5 mm, a medium radius about 0.5 to 1 mm, and a large radius 1 mm and up. The actual result depends on the tool level, the abrasive, the material, and the machine, so treat these as starting points and tell us your target.

Other deburring tools

Brush discs use filaments to reach into holes and cut-outs. Deburring wheels and blocks are for roller-style machines and heavier work. If your parts carry hardened slag from plasma or oxy-fuel cutting, a slag removal brush is usually the better first step.

What we need to recommend one

Your machine and brand, the disc size and connection (and rotation direction for disc machines), the material and thickness, and what the edge is for. Skip anything you are not sure of and we will fill the gaps.

Common questions

How do I choose between levels?

Start with what the edge is for: safe handling, coating adhesion, or a heavy radius. Light edge breaking needs less than a heavy radius for coating durability. Tell us the use and your machine and we will recommend a level.

Do I need a different disc for stainless steel?

Usually yes. A stainless-specific abrasive cuts faster and gives a better radius on stainless than a general-purpose abrasive.

Will a deburring disc fit my machine?

Discs are made in different sizes, connections and rotation directions. Give us your machine brand and model, or the disc size and connection, and we match it.

Do deburring discs remove slag?

They handle burrs and light edge residue. Hardened slag from plasma or oxy-fuel cutting is usually removed first with a slag brush, then the edge is rounded with a disc.

Can I use deburring discs wet?

Some abrasives are made for wet use. Tell us if your machine uses coolant or water.
